I don't know if there's some marketing ploy, though. The actors were all capable and I would certainly pay to see a sequel, if handled as well as this one. Dredd was being shot at by bad people, who would callously kill innocent bystanders, so there was no question ever raised that he was an anti-hero. Commentary on authoritarian law? Maybe, though there was really no illusion that Miss Skins-Other-People was bad, even if she had an unforunate past. There's not much else to say about the film. What possible film discussion comes from that? As far as I'm concerned, that is rated - not under, not over, exactly where an action film of its kind deserves to be: room for smarter films to do better and a lot of room for shitty films to slot in below it. 7.2 on IMDB, 77% on Tomatoes - those are by no means underrated for the kind of movie that it is. However, that could best be called underperforming I've always seen underrated as critical, rather than financial. If you are looking at the sales figures, though, it seems to have struggled. If you mean on Reddit, it's absolutely not underrated - the majority (or perhaps a vocal minority) seems to love it. I can only imagine that this is because people aren't sure of how to scope underrated. I hear far more supporters of it than people that didn't like it. However, I haven't had much reason to talk about it here because,ġ) It already gets talked about a lot. I saw and enjoyed it, and recommend it to my friends.
